Sewing lessons, workshops and events.
For beginners, professionals and anyone up for a fun time getting creative!
Why should I learn to sew?
-
If you spend most of your day at a computer, working on a physical task that involves creative problem-solving AND aesthetic pleasure leaves you feeling refreshed, inspired and energized!
-
Anything you make/ fix/ update/ reinvent is no short feat! I promise your friends and family will be very impressed when you say βI sewed this!β
-
For many, sewing is a slippery slope into addiction! Leaving new sewists addicted to clothing fitting perfectly, obsessing over fabrics, and ALWAYS having an exciting topic to chat about at parties! There are MANY sewing social groups in every city, making it an excellent avenue for building community. Sewing is also a great and healthy alternative to doom scrolling, smoking, and cocaine ;P.
-
Sewing is a lost and necessary art, making anyone who can sew a valuable member of society. Many profitable avenues utilize sewing skills such as tailoring, repairs and alterations, and sewing products like bags and scrunchies. Sewing teaches young entrepreneurs the ins and outs of designing and running a business!

Clothing, if made well, can last a long time! Iβm talking hundreds of years! By repairing and tailoring clothing you create a lot less textile waste AND fewer resources are extracted from the earth for every new piece of clothing you donβt buy. Learning to sew teaches us what good quality means and allows us to undersand the real value of clothing.
Sewing on a small scale (at home, by a local sewist, producing small batches) is inherently a sustainable practice. This is called Slow Fashion. The more care, attention and appreciation we have for our clothes the smaller our impact can become on our environment. Taking a sewing lesson is a fun, easy and profound step in fighting climate change!
There are a million answers to this question, but most people turn to sewing to feel empowered, creative, and liberated in their fashion choices.
Here are 5 benefits of sewing lessons!
Lessons are for Artists, Designers, Sewists, Tailors, Makers, Hobbyists, Novices+ many more creatives.
